Yeah it would be sick if there was a rideable lake out by Hillsboro, they get a lot of wind out there in the winter (south). I'm guessing there are good skate kite spots out that way in the industrial parks

here is a link to a map of the lake. I don't think S/SW winds would work very well. I think one needs SE winds to get into the lake area. Not much fetch with all the hills/mountains surrounding most of the lake. Not saying it couldn't be done.

I have mountain biked out there once and it was really hilly around the lake... i'll scope for launch sites when/if i hit it again though (maybe sooner than later if gorge doesn't look good this weekend)

Was thinking about the Ridge Just today - looked at some pics... I'd be nice to get out. Bet it's at least 10 degrees warmer (that'd be 49 instead of 39)! Very Happy

the ditch was raging yesterday! Big swell, huge gusts, and COLD! Rode very powered on an 8 meter turbo diesel 1. looked for other kiters but no one braved it except a couple of windsurfers. South wind at the ditch is the gustiest and hardest to predict. Water level is high, not very muddy anymore. If anyones ever up for riding the ditch or the coast, Holler. Mantisman

No pics this time! Had to fly solo so takin pics would have been tricky, unless I took them of the windsurfers. I'll bring my girlfriend next time so she can share pics of me flailing! looks like it might pick up a bit today. Probably not enough to ride, but u never know. I've seen it go from 5 knts to 30 in a few minutes! The ditch is great, but kinda tricky to predict wind conditions. if u cant stay upwind consistently than forget riding there. If u get blown downwind ur walking back through the trees and swamp!not fun! I've got my kite shredded there a couple of times when I was first learning. Not a very forgiving spot but its close and it definitely makes u a more versatile rider. Im small (135 lbs) so I can ride when alot of people cant. I also get overpowered easily in strong winds. Bow kites have made the ditch a blast to ride! Cant wait to get some trbo 2s or 3s and shred it up! Peace! Laughing
