Tue Apr 22, 08 6:42 pm Board repairs? |
|
|
Anyone have any ideas on what is the best way to repair gouges on the base of boards? I have an '06 SX and an '07 Glide that need some TLC. Nothing structural... I was thinking clear epoxy, but I'm worried that will be harder than the original surface, making it difficult to sand flat after the repair. Anyone have any knowledge on this? Does Slingshot have any recommendations?
Thanks! |

| Thanks Forrest! Does it harden completely in 30 seconds? I'm just wondering if full hardness maybe comes with time, leaving some time to sand? |

I like to squeegee the epoxy with a razor blade into the crack then put in the light. Make sure there are no raised edges to the crack by scraping with a razor first. Let dry completely or the epoxy will gum up your sand paper. _________________ Gorge Performance

| It will completely harden, very quickly in UV light. Even if it's cloudy. One thing to note is this stuff is very rigid once it dries, so don't use it in areas that flex. |
