I'm a german pilot and I will be in town early afternoon of 19th. Should I head to Hood River or to the coast?
How many days a week is the thermal already working at hood river?
Thanks

Yeah Pingo! Bring it!
Stormy, winter-like weather is forecasted for this weekend - but you should be able to find some wind. Out east in the gorge is probably the better bet for sun.
Good luck! |

Hi Pingo! Welcome!
It's a little early to tell I think. Here's a forecast that includes both the coast and the Gorge.

Here's a forecast for further East in the gorge:

If you rent a car and leave from the airport Hood River is the closest spot. The weather is looking a little iffy though... Maybe further East. I'd say check this forum on Friday, if you can. If you want, PM me and I can PM you my phone number. I'd be happy to check the latest winds for you when you get in on Saturday.
Are you coming in from Frankfurt? (I'm a pilot too; I fly for NWA...) Enjoy your layover! |
