this place sounds awesome, always windy, plenty of water (not too cold because of the gulf-stream that flows around Iceland, not to mention the endless snowkiting opportunities.
Also, they barely have any trees in Iceland, and plenty of non-arable open fields, perfect for landboarding.

44 degree water and 30 degree air... I think I'll stick with the Gorge.

well it's winter now of course, but in the summer its mid 70's. still, 30°F not bad for above the arctic circle in February
correction, mid 50's in the summer

F = C * 1.8 + 32
so 14C = 57.2F

I watched a show on Iceland's geothermal once - they have big geothermal powerplants & they dump the water into man-made lakes which are consequently heated at a balmy 104 degrees F! - bet that'd be fun to hit! Like kiting a fricken hot tub!
They are actually an agricultural community where there crops are grown in greenhouses heated by geothermal!! Houses have free community heat, & sidewalks are heated. Really cool stuff. I hear it's really cheap to go, but the food sux.

I was gonna say...Kiting that with an air temp that's half the water temp would be super lofty.
