Go Beav's for my undergrad and well... since OHSU does not really have a sports program or mascott but is close to the scene....

don't let proximity to kiting be your guiding light in choosing a college.
OSU is an excellent science school. their chemistry, geology, wildlife science, oceanography, and engineering programs are top notch. From what I understand, UO is more of a liberal arts school.
The cops in corvalis are SUPER anal but I never had that many problems with them. Corvallis is an hour from the ocean and if you mt. bike, Corvallis is heaven with miles and miles and miles of single track about 15 minutes from campus. They also have a sweet rock gym.

the pac NW kiting season is basically out of synch with the academic calendar - plus neither school is especially close to the goods, even when the wind is going off.
summers in hawaii sounds like you're got kiting covered. but if you need to kite after classes, you probably should be looking at florida or corpus christi.
