| Once you get used to it getting bindings on with one or two hands while keeping the kite above you isn't very hard (at least that's what I've found). I'd personally recommend the 136 Recoil. The Recoil is a solid all around board that has good pop and can be ridden fast. I ride my 130cm with boots occasionally, which is obviously too small for the task, but I made do this season. Size wise the 136 Recoil and 138 Mission are gonna be similar because the Mission has those rounded tips which extent the length of the board without making the effective edge any longer (not sure how the widths compare, but that could make a difference). I only tried the Mission at Pismo beach in the waves once, but felt like it snagged on chop more than the Recoil due those the rounded extensions on the tips. The channels help you hold an edge without fins or go upwind with more rocker on your board, but I still feel like the Recoil rides faster and goes upwind better. If you're really into wakestyle then maybe go for the Mission, but otherwise I think the Recoil is a better all-around board and I definitely prefer it myself. That's my 2 cents. Hope it helps. |
