Airport was still going strong after 4:30 when i left.

I'm suprised we didn't get chased off, the planes seem awful close when they go straight overhead. Nak if you read this how high are the planes when they come over Broughton beach to land on the most northern runway? Only time i'm glad my jumps are so lame!!

Anyone going out tomorrow morning??

Phil, that doesn't sound good. Did someone have to tow you in?

About 300 feet if they're on glide path. Fortunately, the north component of the wind should be moving the wake vortex to the south.

I was okay, just had some gear issues and a bad self rescue that turned into me letting the whole thing go. The real bitch of it was having my board attached to the leash so my kite left with the board. I think I am going to stop hooking my board up to my leash from now on, even though it makes certain aspects of the self rescue way easier.

Tom was a big help today we drove to Washougal to try to track it down. No luck though.

Nak offered up his boat to do another search, might try that. I am pretty sure its on the island by Cottonwood beach. Not sure what shape the kite would be in after flapping in 40mph easterlies but at least the board and bar should be salvageable.

One good thing: Drysuits rock! over 25 minute swim in the water and plenty warm.

That sucks ass. Kraemer and I stood on the beach around noon and decided not to go out. Just looked crazy out there!

Cottonwood is good if anyone wants to get out. Sneaked about 30 minutes on my 10 before heading home for TG dinner should have rigged the 7.

Got something to be thankful for today...

Had to talk a Rancher into letting me onto his property, a few gates, cows, and creek hops later.. Happened upon my kite and board nestled nicely behind a few bushes sitting there perfect. A little dirt on the LE but otherwise in perfect shape.

It sat there all night in the nuking winds but because of how it landed it just sat... could have just as easily been eviscerated on the nearby trees and shrubs.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Yeah! Glad to hear it! Don't suppose the board was still attached?

Either way it's awesome!

Glad you got a session in!

Was the wind fluky at all? Could you have ridden further downwind, or did the wind die off just west of the beach? Just trying to figure this spot out... Thanks!
