So much for swimming in Ocean Shores on the north side of Gray's Harbor... southwest of Seattle.
OCEAN SHORES ,WA
While the ocean vessel 'Dawn Raider' was commercial fishing for dogfish, this Great White was hooked in the mouth but only resisted slightly for 15 minutes before it came up alongside the boat to have a look; long enough for one of the crew members to slip a rope a round it's tail !!! 'And that's when the s **t hit the fan!!. The Shark took off towing the 42 foot fishing boat backwards through the water at about 7 Knots. Just like in JAWS, the boat was taking on water over the stern and the crew watched in horror as the shark would actually jump completely out of the water at times. This went on for an hour before the shark finally drown ed. She weighed in at 1035 LBS. It is suspected she followed a weak El Nino current into local waters in search of food. Although mid 60 degree water is considered ideal for these sharks, the larger ones can tolerate water in the low 50s.

I want it as a pet! And this is why I like the Gorge winters... First you've got fresh water (hopefully there are no Bull sharks around here), second we've got dams, then the water in the 30s on top of that! I think we're safe.
Look at this:

Damn, that's a Mako??? I didn't know they got to be that size. I could've swarn it was a Great White. Those guys that caught it have some balls. I would not wanna be the one to slit it's throat as it's pulling a boat around.

Tony, I apologize in advance for this one...........Shark would have done the world a favor if it had eaten those f*#*ing yahoos. I hate too see magnificent animals hung up as trophys......there's no honor in it. Of course shark probably would have died if he ate those inbread f*cks......

Wonder how old it was - that's pretty big!
Probably eats little sharks!

Close to the 1200lb world record Mako - Makos are good eating but I'm with Yardsale, really no need to kill the monster ones.
A friend of mine is commerical fisherman in FL and is always on my case when I go kayak fishing a mile or so out. He tells me he has seen big Makos hit a 500lb Marlin from below - biting off the Marlins tail and lifting it into the air
