Jax,

I did go to Bone Hill and walked the beach, but sorry I didn't find anything. I put up a few signs and stopped at the Mass Audubon Society visitor's center. There was no one around but I left one of the signs I made with my phone number and a nice lil pic of a Waroo bar. I also called Phil at Kitesite.net and left him a message. So maybe something will come of it.

Actually, I don't think that launch is ever used. I know the small parking lot overfills in the summer and it's somewhat protected property anyway...not sure how the birders feel about kites. The wind is a little cleaner to the east where you saw the other kites plus there are waves and slicks. I've kited in the harbor a few times but always find it better to head to Chapin beach for NW. Anyway, glad it worked well for you. It is a beautiful spot for sure.

Next time you are headed this way, definitely get in touch.

thanks so much for looking, i knew it would be a long shot...we were setting up about 40ft to the left if you walk up the path from the parking lot....oh well, maybe it'll turn up.

thanks again - let me know if you hear anything.

Dude, next time we wil hit up the waves by Dennis..there was at least 20 kites out there.....wish we could've tapped into the scene but we were running out of time..... Or even next time we could come out to the"V"

Did you see the spread on the Vineyard in the latese Kiteboarding mag...?

Jax,

You might want to call the Massachusetts Audubon Society also. Like I said, I left a sign at their Visitor Center, but no one was around. Maybe they have a lost and found. They own all of the land and the beach you were at. It's worth a call. Actually, I'll call them now....

chansen,

At one point I counted 28 kites up and probably 1/2 that again on the beach. (this is a lot for us btw) Those spots and this sport really has gotten much more popular here this year. But luckily the N wind typically only happens in the fall and spring, and then the lifeguards are gone and it all seems to work out. I've never kited on the Vineyard and only once on Nantucket, I expect they have some great spots. We just kite close to home as it's about the best kiteboarding I've had anywhere...I may be biased of my home area though. Very Happy

Jax,

I called and left a message for the director at that facility. It's called "Long Pasture"...so if I hear anything I'll let you know.

Have a nice weekend...we have some warm temps and SW wind forecasted for tomorrow, with NW on Sunday morning. Fall is fun. Very Happy Very Happy

Good news, I have your bar Very Happy Very Happy !

A guy that lives nearby had picked it up on Sunday. He saw one of the signs I put out yesterday and called. So I just got it from him.

Shoot me an address to send it to...you can PM me if that's better.
