				| I love watching high performance jets. The raptor is the newest fighter and can out fly the pilot. It's a five minute video but the end is priceless!

				| A few yrs. ago when I was into soaring a lot
most of the glider pilots are former high time military pilots
so much ado over the newest tech.
the biggest news for all of us "retired' types was that
for the first time ever a reserve pilot
 took the "top Gun' honors
 he was 40 yrs. old.
We used to play "Falcon 3" online against other pilots
a really realistic game (2 controls & a rudder with all the buttons just like in a "F-16")
Only prob was we played at night and after a couple sorties I couldn't go to sleep for a couple hours .
My daughters friend father was a F 16 squad leader based in Fl. he said it was "As close as it gets" he also played it all the time.

The F-22 the first collabrative effort on military contract for aircraft and is great leap forward and should be good for many years to come.
It's been many years since our country has updated our Air Force
these are the planes that will bring them back home

I would guess pretty decent efficiency, when not in 'burner. long legs (range) is of vital importance to the mission this aircraft will perform. However, once you stroke the 'burner you're dumping fuel at a very high rate into a combustion chamber behind the engine. All bets are off then.

Man, what a bird! Videos like this really make me miss the old days, even though the T-38 couldn't even dream of doing what the F-22 does, it was still a kick in the ass!

				| That thing does have some SERIOUS power to weight ratios. Pretty impressive stuff, it flies like my 3-d electric plane. | |

				| Actually, the F-22 is rediculously fuel efficient considering it's performance envelope. The F-22 is capable of something called "supercruise" where the plane can reach and maintain supersonic flight without using its afterburner. Like NAK said, when you hit the burner anything will really chug gas, and a big part of this plane's advantage is that it is fater and can stay in the air longer than the other guy. | pdxmonkeyboy wrote: | | what kind of gas mileage does that thing get? What kind of 3D plane do you have? Extra or Edge? I'm working on my small 45", electric, EF Extra 300, that I converted to Nitro. With the standard LiPo setup it's rated at ~2:1 power to weight. I should be at least 3:1 though I don't know how it's going to do aside from the vertical! haha!

P.S. - You guys could buy one if you wanted... for ~$10k, and it'd be nice.

 Something like this!

I got the simple ace wrap + gauss, but JW was telling me about some kind of girdle thing you can get. I guess he passed it onto Amery when he got hurt. It might be nice to get it from Amery, would be funny to see how many kiters it could help

				| hey that's really low showing a dewd
 peeing on himself (funny though)
 that's a personal thing.

But on another note the Raptor
In the practice was 1 against 6
 F-16's
the F-16s never saw the Raptor coming (stelth)
he got all 6 of them this plane is projected to last 30 YEARS
 as did the F-16's

				| controlled spins and low level stalls! Unbelievable! You can see the computer controllling the rear elevators in oposite directions to control roll. Jet are dynamically unstable in a stall since the CG is aft of the wings. THey will fall tail first. I was talking to one of the test pilots who wrote the spin recovery proceedure for the T-38. Eject. He was saying if you don't recover during the first turn you'll loose 20,000ft in 5 turns. Doing low level stalls shows allot of confidence in the aircraft. | |

 it would at best F-16's
 that might be the way
get all our oil $'s back by selling them jets
just so we can shoot them up
oh ya I think we already did that
bin laden WAS our man in Afganastan
and hussain WAS our man in Iraq
 pretty good judges' of character???
