but that's exactly why I brought up on the other thread to try and find a spot for instruction that is out of the way of riding!!! so we don't get pummeled, or worse!

Just did a few actual calculations to follow up Hein for fun! Started with sherical volume, so as not to account in for any "unnecessary space".

This is assuming we're dealing with 18 and 23m lines with a 2.5m tall kite.

(4/3)pi(18+2.5)^3 =~9022m^3
4

(4/3)pi(23+2.5)^3 =~17364m^3
4

WOW!

but that's the entire 1/4 quadrant of the sphere... technically speaking, (and just to challenge adam a little), you should cut out the volume that isn't at the edge of the window, or just behind the edge... let's see you post an integration sign on hear beotch! -always good to check the math.
comparisons are always easy in the noggin.

All like terms; pi, 4/3 and the 1/4 (since we're
only dealing with one forth of a sphere) drop out
of both sides. so all you have left is the comparison
of two numbers cubed:

18*18*18 vs 23*23*23

The size of the usable wind window has no effect on
the comparison.

Amazing, those exponents, aren't they!?

If you know where to put your kite when riding by other people then the volume taken up is just your lines plus kite. If you fly your kite all over the window while people are trying to squeeze by then I'm sure you're getting in people's way in any case. If a nice rotation is set up then at least 6 people can ride in the pool in relative peace as we did many times when the slider was set up. I imagine the crowds plus kooks can very quickly make it all go to hell. Too bad the coast forecast looks like crap so there's no escaping to the waves...

But Hein, that only takes half of the sweep right to left into consideration (or half of the volume). Excluding the kite height that I put in before, it'd be 36*18*18 and 46*23*23, right? I know, still not necessary, but I like to everything perfect! haha

Brett, I don't even wanna try! Laughing I just got out of Organic lab, now I've gotta pack, head up north, stop in Gervais to help a friend with his psycho Civic, then drive all the way out to Rufus!
