So I was just poking around the internet today and noticed a pretty cool add for Royal kiteboarding. Is this a new company? Has anyone ever riden one of their kites?
From the looks of it there isn't anything special about the design, but they keep talking about "the revolution is coming" .....ooohh...ahhhh!

Check out the kites section under Tools at the top. It looks like they have 1 kite in different sizes.

My understanding is that the Era is the next evolution of Simones last design the RRD Hypertype. I am flying the Hyper now and love it. I am interested to see what these look like.

I flew my Buddy Antoine's ERA a couple months ago. Nice kite, little bit of a spongy feel to it though.

spoke w/ Daryl from Extreme Kites a month or so ago.. he raved about the kite.
many here in St. Pete fly the hypertype due to its amazing low end.. Era is supposed to be a next gen of that kite.
im needing to replace my 12m waroo as its time is coming to an end.. think the Era will be my next kite to try..

Daryl runs a tight shop and takes care of his customers. If the local shops don't carry something you need, give Extreme Kites a shot.

Just want to let you know that I (Dave Tyburski) am now working with Royal Kiteboarding. I just got the kites in early Sept and have been flying the 8, 10, and 12M in Brazil and Chile over the past 3 weeks. It's true, the Era is an evolution of the RRD Hypertype.
I don't want to tech out too much on why the kite is special but in my opinion, the Era is very stable and refined kite and doesn't really feel like the other kites in the Hybid, SLE or Bow kite catagories.
The Era is very powerful for the size and has all the benefits of the SLE/Bow kites such as range and easy relaunch, but with a simple bridle, no pulleys and a C-kite feel on the bar. After coming off of 5 line hybrids for the past year and a half, I finally feel more in tune with my kite again, even in 30+ knots.
So I encourage you to try the kites and see for yourself. the website is up and running and will give you an idea for the product, company philosophy and feel behind the brand. www.royalkiteboarding.net
I'm really stoked to be working with Simone again. I'll have kites to demo in La Ventana this winter and I am happy to answer any questions anytime. Thx!

Turbo (dave)..
Theres a couple 14m eras where I ride.. been out on them a number of times and ABSOLUTELY love them..
Note/FYI.. they DO have pulleys on the bridles.. .
But my main question is on the small diameter of the front bridle.. it looks micro-thin and raised a lot of eyebrows here.
any comments on this? This truly is the only hesitation i have to picking up a 12m era to replace my 12m waroo ..

Hi, No issues with the bridles that I have heard of or come accross myself. My 10 just got pounded in the surf and rocks yesterday here in Chile. Not a scratch... I´ll speak with Simone and see if he has heard of any troubles. Oh...pullies, I was refering to pullies on the bar. Glad to hear that you like the kites. I´m really stoked too. Give them a try when you upgrade your Waroo! Thx. -D

Hi, I checked into your bridle query. The factory ran out of the thicker bridle material that the kites are specified to ship with and substituted with stronger but reduced diameter bridle material. There have been no negative reports of any increased wear or breakage!
Cheers,
-D
