This was an awesome event in an awesome place. It took some prisioners. Fortunately that was not our van or our kite in the trees. About 6 kites rested in the trees at some point, several kite tangles, etc. The Sauna was wonderful. A must for every beach! Great entertainment.
Everyone should put it on the calendar for next year as the party, people, sponsors & swag, and event was great. Here's some more photos of the beach / party scene. Sorry we missed the downwinder. Next year, lets plan these on different weekends cause both are must-do events.

Sweet pics! I got to ask though, how did the kites get up in the tree? From the picture, it doesn't look like there are lines attached, so did the wind pick them up off the beach?

The kites in the trees came from flying them too close to shore and sending them into the trees or walking the beach and not paying attention. They all came down without any damage and were quite comical.

The water temp wasn't bad - warm enough for a shorty when the sun was out, wore a 3/2 when it was cloudy. Of course Grom, Shan and Josh went sans wetsuit (didn't we get them one for Christmas last year???), but I saw them shivering a couple of times.

While waiting for his heat, this guy Josh, he had me worried when he climbed up on this log about 8 or 9 feet up over the rocky beach at Nitinat.
He is such a goof ball!
I was going to give him a hand down, when he just jumped right off!
He must have feet of steel!

Next, wild and crazy Josh decided to ride the infatable.
I think he'll ride anything that moves!

Is it just me, or this Josh like the Dana Garvey if Kitesurfing?
The guy rips on the water... a real pleasure to watch.

The Clown's "balls out award" definately goes to this dude, Paul.
A lacerated foot, a blown out kite, I watched him shiver from either cold or shock while being treated....and he still was in the final heat!

Kiters from the gorge make a day at the beach something to remember.
