Slowbee, aka KiteTele, aka Toby ... and I are hitting the road with Shay and Trevor in search of wind and waves on the OC.

Plan is to hit it North to South, starting at Manzo today. We'll probably stick to the N-Coast this weekend so come on down!

Then hope to see the rest of the central and southern coast crew later this week. Mocean, blowhard, registered, Sol-Flyer... we're coming for you guys. Very Happy

Pics to come!

That's funny...I was debating doing the same thing at some point. As Gabe and others mentioned though wouldn't you have better luck starting on Monday? I'll probably be doing Lot B to Sunset downwinders Mon-Wed unless we head down to Newport.

On second thought, why don't you guys reverse direction and go South to North. You might still get wind South of Cape Blanco this weekend and then you can come up North once the wind gets good.

Hope you guys have a good time whatever you do. Keep the reports coming.

Hopefully you boys will be in the Newport/FLORENCE/North Bend area on Wed. It's the one day next week I have free and would love to session with you boys. Shay and I took our first lesson together five or so years ago with low jump Rob. That's where we first met Bam Bam on an over sized kite and board pants stoked out of his mind. Keep us posted on where you'll be!

Yesterday was surprisingly sweet, always have faith in Manzo on a clear sunny day to give up the goods!

It was 13m-15m SLE conditions, a little bigger for C kites, though I was upwind on an 11m SLE on my Hein. Wind was in that perfect region where it was good enough to get you upwind so you could ride waves, but not so windy the waves were blown out or you get overpowered off of them. Water looks pretty magical clear and blue, thought at times I was back in Maui until I took a dunk or two (the SW'erly warmth is definitely leaving quick!)

I don't think the sensor was telling the right story, because it said it was WSW-W at a few points... when it was clearly WNW on the beach. My guess is wind on the water was 15-18mph... got a few jumps in but mostly it was about the waves.

Looks like more of the same today, with things ramping up tomorrow/monday. We'll probably hang here until Monday and then hit Oceanside. Very Happy

Big thanks to Tony (Barfly) and Sasquach for hooking us up with a last minute room at Summer House: http://www.summerinseaside.com/ ... You guys are awesome! Thumb's Up

Sounds like a plan! Newport and Florence are definitely at the top of my list for spending the most time on the trip. We also want to head all the way down to Floras at some point.

Seaside delivered! 11m again, lots of tasty waves but mostly had fun in the butter practicing jibing my surf board (hard!)

Late July southwesterlies are awesome! It was crazy, I was (no shit) in my shorty, water is like high 60's. Air temp was 72 degrees by 11am.

Barfly, Sasquach, Slowbee and I tore it up. No Troll sightings, but there's rumor he might surface tomorrow. Shocked

I think we plan to do downwinders tomorrow, Ft Stevens -> Sunset, Manzo is backup plan.

Oceanside Monday! ... To the people who have to work, we salute you! Twisted Evil

Didn't take the camera to the beach but I snapped some photos yesterday afternoon. Seaside was beautiful yesterday, super warm and sunny.
