Wed Jul 25, 2007 7:28 am Sauvie's or Stevenson today 07-25-07? |

| Both look equally tempting. I just don't like the sand getting in everything, but sharp, slippery rocks have their drawbacks too... Yeah, life is rough when you can't decide where to kite. |

Watching the weather, SI for sure if the wind gets there. Sand is good, rocks bad. _________________ MS |

If you can be in the car at 3:30 then Stevenson is always a great option. Any later, I'd say Sauvies. Last night it blew 9m-11m till sunset.
If you check the graphs Stevenson has a nasty habit of dying off right around 6pm. Though sometimes, it doesn't. |

Not trying to be too optomistic but I think SI (with this cool marine flow pushing through) should blow late into the evening - Like I said, mirror image of yesterday...
All I'm saying is, I get off at 3:30 also....
SI is cool cause I can stop by the 7-11...and when I reach the SI bridge, I crack open a cold PBR for the short drive to the beach...aaaahhhh...refreshing after a good days work in the office....
Stevenson, no way dude cuase I'm driving 80 on the freeway.... |

Sauvie-Yes
Stevenson-no
Coast - too far.
besides, there are not enough kooks at the beach. half the fun at Sauvie's is watching the kooks come out of hiding. There was some dude yesterday that had a brand new crossbow and he had some much damn gear he looked like he was ready to go joust or some shit.
I tried to give him a pointer or two but he not speak English too good. So I sat back and waited for the show to start. Damn depowering kites, nothing exciting never happens with those things.

I was riding and saw two dudes struggle to launch a big old kite for a while. They finally got set up for a sweet hot launch, and the kid immediatly was getting drug towards the berm. At some point it looked like he dropped the bar and put the kite over the berm and on to the pavement. It then reluanched and wound up in the power lines (with the dude still holding on)
Unbelievable-- Luckily dude survived and will be there in person to pick up his darwin award |
