Spent the week with my bro in the Bahamas - Exuma, Rum Cay, Conception Island, and Cat Island.

Off season for the wind - but had some fun in super light wind with the skim - mostly fished and dived.

Did get my first session in directly offshore marginal wind - counted on my bro to finish snorkeling and tow me back in the zodiak before I got out too far - sort of sketch as the water off Conception Island went from 40 feet to over a 1000 in about 600 yards. Next stop Africa.

Some Shots.

Gman awesome shots, and you picked the perfect week to be gone from NW... lots of rain and not much wind. Today (in the Gorge) is looking better though, thanks for bringing the sun back with you.

G,
planning a family reunion thing in the bahamas in january, and it frickin hard to find out anything about proximity to kiteable beaches down there, the kite-schools seem to want to be your travel agent as well, and little is posted about where to set up home base.

where are some of the best places to combine lux accommodations and kiting in your backyard? any help is much appreciated.

This was my first time to Georgetown in the Exumas and only spent two days - looked like lots and lots of spots. Stocking Island just off of Great Exuma looked like it would be great. Emerald Bay is an awesome beach about 10 minutes from the airport.

The boat opens up a lot of places - even a small runabout - tons of little unihabitated islands and sandbars.

In January you will get good wind - but can blow out the diving, fishing, and boating

If I had to settle for one spot - I really like Hopetown in the Abacos.

Gets nice waves and a protected inside channel - not touristy but enough to keep the fam happy.

I usually don't stress about the wildlife, but we were only 50-50 with everthing we hooked up, the sharkys where fairly acrobatic to get their share. They really really dig Tuna sashimi.
