Hey there, this is Nelly's "other" owner via joint custody. I don't want to revisit a locked forum, but I gotta put in my two cents. Apologies first. But second, be careful how you guys judge the dogs owner. Some of that shit warrants a dark alley meeting. I raise good dogs, but they are just being dogs. I would rather put a leash on some of you assholes and lock the wussies in the car.
Granted, an eye should be kept on dogs, but how 'bout the other eye looking out for the rest of the issues down there? I've seen more people tangling lines, than dogs. And way more people crowding the beach. Get up and get out, your not impressing anyone with your wake hop - to - toeside right in front of the beach.
Steps will be taken to contain my dogs when in my custody, but don't let me see this not applying to EVERYONE!!!!! Let's all abandon this dog friendly town and enforce all the laws of the beach. Shall I begin to list the infractions that go on down there, on a daily basis? I think not.
Plain and simple: Let the dog know, yell at it, push it away, even offer a disciplinary "whoop" on the backside. But let me see any of you kick any of my dogs!!!!!

I don't have the heart to kick a dog. Again, my apologies for stirring up a bunch of b.s.

Will this ever end! I think this is the 4th thread about this..common

It is very simple.
If a dog is not under control, it needs to be leashed. This discussion is not about if people kite too close to the beach, or kite etiquette, it’s about dogs being a nuisance on the beach. This could be a person just afraid of dogs in general, or not wanting their kite stepped on, torn, or lines tangled, or bit by one. People don't like dogs that are not under control.

If is not up to other people to yell, push, or control someone else’s dog. It is the responsibility of the dog owner to control the dog at all times. And I do not see how this is really up for discussion.

IMO it is fine to have your dog off leash as long as it is under control, but as soon as a dog is not under control, it needs to be. If owner is kiteboarding, how can they control the dog, that can't and it is not the responsibility of anyone else at the beach to babysit someone else's dog.

amazing the person who was bit is apologizing and the dogs owner is threating people and blameing them for riding to close to the beach.

Confused Confused Confused

Virtually all of the problems on planet earth are because of humans:

Pollution
Crime
War
Depletion of resources
Extinction of species
Global warming
Over population
It is a endless list...

Misbehaving dogs are the owners fault, and people reacting to it is a human issue. It is not the dog's problem, they are just being animals.
