Tue Mar 23, 21 6:56 am Efoil/ebike/Onewheel batteries - Lift efoil batteries |
|
|
Got two 48V/2.1kWh Lift batteries with only couple of cycles on them and failed thermistors, so they won’t power the unit. Lithos won’t service them directly, Lift considers them out of warranty. They suggest disposing them locally.
Batteries were kept charged, in storage and I bet someone who builds their own ebikes/efoils/Onewheel batteries would value 30 lbs of cells in each.
Suggestions?

There's a company in Las Vegas who rebuild e-bike batteries that I once looked into. For a standard e-bike it was somewhere around $250, but with a painfully expensive shipping fee because these things are "hazardous" material.

Here's a encouraging video on this company:

I just yesterday read where Specialized is now offering battery rebuilds for all their e-bikes. A good thing. We have an old 2008 REI e-bike that is now land-fill.
Good Luck,
Kip
