I have not been to Dougs beach because it has always been a windsurfing location. I may be able to make it out on Saturday.

Can I get basic directions? "approximately x miles east of y there is a turn out...." |

				| Since it is a community project, do you think the state could arrange for free parking? |

Let me Google (map) that for you. I windsurfed all the 90s there, and landed a downwinder kite there a couple years ago. Super nice launch:

I’m pretty sure it’s a Discover Pass parking area. Same as the Hatchery

Oregon parks was fine with looking the other way when we did Viento. They were glad to have the help. Annual work parties at Viento have really opened up the beach and cleared line catching hazards.

Thu Oct 03, 19 6:06 am    CALL BART FIRST |
				     |

				| Yo, Been in touch with Bart and Andy, park ranger. This is going to be an organized , 20 person WORK crew of seasoned trail management people to build a trail thru to Doug's West from the existing entry to a safe and efficient kite rigging and launching area. It is NOT that now, we have permission to remove all the invasive species.(trash trees, blackberry, poison oak, thorn bushes , fun stuff)If you want to help, you need to first call Bart at CGWAPADDLESORTSETC (whatever) and leave a message that you want to be on the crew. He will call back and interview you to see what you can bring to the team. This needs to be well organized and efficient as we have 1day to get it done. DON"T SHOW UP WITHOUT CALLING BART . PERIOD. Let's get it done Inflictor out |

Victors enthusiasm is warranted but here's the deal everyone and yes I just got off the phone with Bart.

- Clean up is 9:00 -1:00 this Saturday.

- Everyone is welcome. The more the merrier.

- Work 1 hour or work all 4. All time is greatly appreciated but plan on burning some calories.

- Two major areas being cleared. - Tarps being laid down. Wood being burned on site for quick disposal.

The State will have back hoe and chipper running, which costs $$$ so they want at least 15+ people to make their time worth it. Bart is hoping for many many more to show up. Dress appropriately. Nasty stuff being removed.

Hot dogs & beverages will be available but most importantly you'll peg your good kite Karma needle to full tilt LIT!

See you Sat.
