I have gone the last 4 years to Jericoacora. Fly into Fortaleza and catch the shuttle.
Great fun town. Unreal kiting experience. The wind statistics are Sept 100%, Oct 99$ and Nov 98% - you can't go wrong with Brazil. If you are looking for a cool resort in the area with lots of fun kiters - check out Rancho do Peixe. Beautiful. The wind stats are for days that are 25 knots and above. I am 210 and bring a 9, 7, 6 and mostly use the 7. |

My wife and I honeymooned in Brazil for three weeks end of Oct to early Nov. We started in Taiba and downwinded to Jeri. We took all three weeks to do it spending three days here, 4 days there. Awesome. Windy all day every day. |

Awesome, thanks all! We are loving the idea of Jeri in Brazil. Looks like a cool town and great wind / beaches / relatively flat water. Maui and Tarifa definitely considerations too. Much appreciated! |

A post from 10 years ago on Brazil.
". . . So one day trip down to lot B I was riding with a guy that had visited Brazil a handful of times. He told me that he actually prefers to fly direct to Frankfurt, Germany then take a direct to Brazil. Apparently less "puddle jumping" with smaller planes and transferring gear (which can be a pain). . . . "
This guy was flying in and out of PDX and prefers more direct flights with less puddle jumping. If I recall correctly, it took about the same amount of travel time vs doing a more direct flight from the US and more puddle jumping.
Thoughts anyone?

^^^^^^ yes. After talking to the Europeans there it sounded easier coming from Europe. There were direct flights to Fortaleza from Lisbon also |

So true. Find another way to get to Fortaleza. My route was the typical route suggested by travel agents and Expedia. Seattle to Houston.... long lay-over.... then 11+ hours to Sao Paulo... another long layover....then 4 1/2 hours backtracking up to Forteleza. Brutal. When I arrived I was surrounded by kiters who got a quick hop from Lisbon and other European cities. _________________ CGKA Member
