i've been watching the forecasts like a kite addict; lets just say i'm not getting my hopes up for this weekend. here is what NWS is reporting for Hood River

Friday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 65. West wind between 3 and 11 mph.
Saturday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 61. West wind between 7 and 10 mph

and for rufus

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 69. West northwest wind around 13 mph.
Saturday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 71. West wind between 9 and 11 mph.

edit** the computer models are slightly more optimistic on ikite for HR, saying 12,13,11 knots for saturday from 12,2,4pm, respectively. I dont think breaking out the 20.5 machine is really worth it when the water is only 42 degrees Confused

Hey Phil,
Are these conditions doable with your 12m and skimboard?
Or is it more effort than return on investment (i.e. will I spend more time in the 42 deg water or on top of the water)?

use the power of the windbow!
i predict friday will be light and saturday will be patchy from stevenson east (with small kite weather somewhere) im not sure about sunday because it only does the 48 hour forecast Confused
that computer model always goes way wayy low in the winter for some reason, but if the gradient gets to the size they forecast you wont need that 20.5

ah yes, the windbow, sure does make it look a lot more optmistic, but i dont think i'm going all the way out to plymouth, fek dat. My bets are on rufus.

just keep an eye on the conditions and be ready to jump on it like a rental van winshield after a night of drinking if it gets good.

If today counts as "the weekend" it appears that RR is on from the ese at 16 and add 10 mph on top of that because the sensor isn't fully exposed and or it doesn't truly reflect what the winds are really doing. Probably strong 12m C kite stuff i'd say.

I'd go but i have some cornbeef, beer, and basketball to take in this afternoon . . .

It's a sunny day today, Viet Schlong partrols are probably out in extra force. . . Watch where you step! Shocked

if I get-off work early I might head out.

I work with one of the viet-schlong( I know, sounds dangerous), but he assured me, they are still scared of the water temps.. we might be okay. Confused
