First flight on Oahu at a place called Makapuu. Holy shit this place rocks. World class ridge soaring and I followed some of the locals up to about 1750 and flew across the east tip to the Koko Crater!
Too light to kite, but three hours in the air in world class paragliding conditions was a nice hello from Ohau! Some of the locals think they got some good pictures, so hopefully I can post one or two in a few days.
Damn, my flying is rusty and I had a full frontal during a mid/large wing over. Gonna have to get into the air much more and keep the skills improving.

You missed a 2.5 hour tradewind on the north end back here on your island. Back to south Konas for the next few days though and we now moved from Wailea to Kihei for our last week here. See you when you get back.

There is a great fly spot over on Maui up at Poli Poli. Sounds like they have a perfect learning hill and we should head up and get you out flying on my wing! I need to check out the spot anyway, and I'll call you this afternoon from work!
John, you have a dirty mind that I fully appreciate! Hmmm, full frontals CAN be good eh!

Poli Poli is a great training hill and you get can even soar it on certain days (well if you can scratch decently). Glad you're settling into the island life Jon. You are going to love it there. If you get to fly Haleakala I'm going to be jealous. It was blowing 60 off the back when we were there!
