Hey Guys,

Interested in riding Post Canyon. We are looking for intermediate options; i.e. no big jumps and drops, with moderate rocky technical sections. Is this type of trail available in the trail system ? Reading online makes it look like it is very technical with jumps and drops.

Also, any advise on loops, or does everyone just shuttle ?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

There are some flowing , non technical trails . Stop by Dirty Fingers bike shop , they have a map and friendly advice.

Have fun dirt surfing .

Surf and Turf!
If you're in good biking shape and ok to ride uphill - PM me and I'll show you some loops.
There's miles and miles of singletrack and your wheel never needs to leave the ground.
You can also go to the bottom parking area and hook up with people heading out.
You wouldn't have to wait more than 20 minutes - there's a constant flow of bikers headed up into the area.
The parking lot is at the end of Post Canyon road - just head west until it turns to dirt and you see 30 cars parked on the side of the road.

I love Post Canyon and ride it a lot. Your best bet to get used to the place is to park at the bottom of Post Canyon road and ride the trails alongside the road called 7-streams, then when find the upper parking lot go left and continue up 7 Streams to Family Man. Then from there do a loop up 8-Track and finally head back down either the same trails to your car or take the more jumpy Float on and Kleeway trails.

I heard there was a bear siting up there yesterday so heads up!

Thanks a ton for the info guys - We were deciding between Post Canyon and Sandy Ridge - Glad we hit Post Canyon !

Ended up parking below 7 Streams and going up past Family Man for some very nice semi-technical trail with nice flow and some nice small jumps. Super fun trails - You're lucky to have those in your back yard !

rad! glad you got some riding in. Yes, we're extremely fortunate to have such a fun network of trails so close to town.

That bear was seen by a few locals a month ago, apparently it is feeding on trash left by people at the bottom of Post Canyon in the parking area. If that continues, I can guarantee that bear will be killed very soon. If you love wildlife, don't litter and don't leave anything for them to snack on.
