Here's a few really, really shitty shots of Tucker. With the nasty weather, I didn't want to have the cam out too long...

Looks fun! I went and checked out the Siletz - all kinds of traffic so I got there at like 3, only 6-10 mph at that time. Bagged that, and went down to Newport and played w/ the landboard for two hours in ~15 mph.

We got to Tolovana at noon.....tide was super high=no beach...
So, we went to Mazanita, powered on 12m...and big waves....pretty nice 3 hour session in the fog with bonfire on beach.
Wind at Manzanita was side-onshore, so really nice to pull into the waves.
videos coming.

Hell yea the tide was high. We got up to Seaside at 11:00, and the tide was the highest I've ever seen! Waited around for an hour and a half before deciding to head south. Swell was definately nuts too, but from time to time we had a nice slick spot!!!
P.S. - Tucker and I both can't handle salt water for some reason... Gags the shit out of me and makes me wanna throw up if it even touches my lips. Is that normal?

And in regard to Siletz; it all depends on the tide, but if you're not in the channel, it probably ranges from less than a foot to ~7-8ft. On a north day this past spring (with a medium tide), JP worked his way from the normal launch, up to within 100 yards of Moe's, and had a seal cruising directly underneath him as he tacked back and forth!
On a low tide day, when you're forced to ride in the channel it's deeper...

Missed you guys on Sat - also arrived around noon at Tolavana - no beach, dumping rain - but opted to check out Gearheart - raining but fairly steady wind for a downwinder to Sunset. The water was a bit sketch with lots of brown sea-foam. Got worked on the Skim but landed a few nice floaters(tasty too!).
Sunday was dismal but got a nice session at La Boca de Norte - land of the sweetest butter - aka Netarts Inlet. Super glassy, 15 to 20, lit on the skim and 7m - the wind dropped out to 5 to 8 and it was still working - the current was cranking out at around 10 knots (peak ebb and new moon day before). I swear you could sail with no wind at all.
Just don't drop your kite - got a good scare as the wind turned off and the kite dropped and proceeded to overtake me in the rip on my departure to the great expanse - swam like a mother and was about to jetson everthing - when the wind turned back on and got everything back into the sky - thank you Wind Gods!

nice skim Gman. is that a Cabal you're riding? straps on it or just deck tape? looks pretty burly out there for skimming. guess i've got to pull up a nut this year and learn to ride my skim.

nice....
Yeah, I started out on the skim on Sat at Manzanita cuz the wind was still light....really fun on the close-in waves and with the warroo. The skim will be in my quiver for every session from now on.
I have ridden Netharts close to the mouth.... yeah, def. need to watch the rip...We were riding a north wind starting at teh beach north of Happy Camp riding the waves and current swell, then downwind into the river mouth back to the cars...
Had a friend flying a trainer while we were out on the water....and we see her bodydragging in the channel..!!!? She was getting sucked out pretty fast... Came in and got her back to shore
But that water on the inside by the parking lot is like a mirror...!
