What is your favorite (surf) board for the OR coast (Manzo/Ft. Stevens)?

Pardon my density, but do you mean favorite surfboard for paddling, or for kiting?

Oops. Good question. I meant for kitesurfing on the coast.

Down on the central coast, I really dig my 5'8" Doyle Rodeo Fish, set up as a quad, w/ straps.

Ah well it is a kiting forum...
Anything! But in general more volume since you're not blasting through river chop and it's nice to get some float and glide through that top turn!

Are you looking for a recommendation or do you just want to know everyone's favorite?
If you're looking for a recommendation....
It might help narrow down your choice if you stated your style of riding (slasher vs. carver), your weight, strapped vs. strapless, jump or no jump. Are you more focused on jumping and tricks or actually riding a wave.
My opinion - Manzo and Ft. Stevens do not have the best wave for surf style riding.
More often than not the waves are random bumps that you can slash here and there.
It's very rare to get more than 2 slashes/bottom turns on a single wave.
I have many surfboards (strapped and strapless) and when I ride at Manzo and Ft. Stevens I usually ride strapped. The water can be rough and choppy and half the fun for me is jumping. Yeah - I know you can jump strapless but I don't.
Bottom Line - my favorite boards for the north coast are boards designed and/or made locally.
#1 is the Slingshot Celeritas with straps. It's an all around board that slashes, carves, and jumps well.
North Pacific makes a great board well suited to North coast conditions. On any given day half the boards at Manzo or Ft. Stevie will be NP boards.

Both... Curious and looking for recommendations.
Like you I typically ride strapped at Manzo and Ft. Stevens because of the chop. I'm wanting more of a wave riding board (I'll save the boosting for my TT). I weigh 140 lbs and currently ride a Cabrinha S-Quad 5'8" strapped on the coast and 4'10" Firewire Vader unstrapped in the Gorge swell.

Disclaimer - I have 6 kite surf boards in the garage and I'm fairly opinionated on the subject.
I currently ride this board when the conditions are good for wave/swell riding.
I use this board in Maui. It's becoming popular in central california and here in the gorge.

My next board -
Made by a guy in Canada - I demo'd one last summer in the gorge and it was an amazing surfy board with deep concaves that rode fast, ripped upwind and was very loose and easy to turn. Flying Squirrel. Super light and easy to ride.

Idhr I was actually just looking at these boards the other day. Lody suggested the Rippa or the Rocket for the OR coast. Have you ridden either one of these boards?

No - but Loyd is a straight shooter and I would listen when he talks.

I've seen James Ropner riding them at the Coast and Rufus. He seems to make them work...
