| I mean these kite companies have this massive canvas on which to work and this is the best they can come up with? Where are the flames (kudos to caution for trying), tribal designs (kudos to Wainman for trying), 60s pinup girls, etc. My last Rebel was battleship gray, with yellow and Kelly green. It looked like a frickin rotten Easter egg. If the kite companies are too lazy why don't they run a contest and let the public do the creative design? Winner gets a free pump. So tired of ugly kites. | North is the worst offender here in my opinion. I don't think they've made a good looking kite since like the 2005 Vegas, the one with the cards and dice on it. OP it sounds like you were in heaven in the late 90s. |

Agreed, North moved away from some fairly hideous color choices a couple of years ago. Now it looks like the kite designer left his notes on the canopy.
Luckily for many kite companies, performance is what matters. Graphics are the last thing I consider when evaluating a kite.
I would like to see a "less is more" approach to graphics and color choices. Sometimes they just try too hard.

| Yeah guys I was thinking the same thing. Instead of taking the fish in the blender approach to regurgitating kite design, pick a beautiful color and just make it one simple color. I agree that kite performance is what matters but who likes spending a grand on something that looks looks like asswipe? |

Not a fan of a single color kite - need some sort of leading/trailing edge color difference. Sometimes I come out of the rinse cycle and my kite is still in the air and I need to quickly see which way the kite is flying. Other than that I don't really care about the graphics (but my wife sure does ).  |

| The leading edge / trailing edge thing reminds me of the 2008 Rebel that was brown and light blue. That was kind of cool. Since then perhaps they are designing kite graphics to match Krn's personality. |
