It's always interesting to watch the sandbar slowly expose itself after every winter. I hadn't really paid attention to it when I was younger because I didn't know any better but now that I'm older I find it interesting. Especially since I can remember my grandparents taking me down to the waterfront and watching the big ships pull into the docks and my parents bringing the boat in the basin and towing around on a wakeboard on windy days.

Don't know if anybody else has noticed or if I have just never noticed but there is a very interesting change this year

On the west side "bluff" of the sandbar there is a low spot where the water is still ripping through. With the water ripping (and I mean ripping) through it's also taking sand and sending further and further west. I walked as far west as I could and it went for quite a while!

It will be interesting to see what it looks like when the water is low
