FYI I'm going to visit Siletz Sunday morning for anyone interested. Looks like pretty much a storm, but maybe not that bad if the wind can stay under 20 for the morning (please above 10!!).

I'll be doing something else if it's terrible. Tide is favorable in the AM, we'll see how it goes!

I showed up around 1:30 and stayed till 4. Nicely powered on a 9m.

The ponds work well on a S or Se if you hit it a couple hours either side of a high tide. High today was at 1pm and the water was very thin by 4pm. It is always a bit gusty and often raining. I tend to get a couple session there on a South every year. Usually in Nov.-Dec. and March. So I am not going to complain about wind quality or rain.

Today was just a bit overcast and solid 9m. Like Addict said "Bliss".

And it is never crowded.

Siletz in the morning was a little "wild":

Spent the first 30 mins on my 13m / Fish till it bumped up to 7m conditions in five minutes and it was everything I could do to get off the water! Then it was powered 7m for an hour, till it dropped to 9m. The whole time there was a crazy 3 foot tidal wave coming in the bay flooding everything, causing hella chop, and dumping in drift wood! Things started to get smoother later, but the tide was changing and I was exhausted.

My only regret was not getting on my surfboard and trying to ride the bay wave right off the bat! I left at 1:30 or so... thanks to Windian and other Newport Mike for the launch / landing assist. Smile
