What an awesome day. 7/8m wind, big swell and fairly warm compared to the last few months.

Some shots from today... Props to the windsurfer who sailed a 2.5m sail through a 50+mph pulse!

We were heading to Rufus yesterday and saw the wind shift to west on the Maryhill sensor. Past experience has shown that not to be good, sw being the setup. Glad you got it good! Walt and I hit Rowena and after getting that 50+ gust that you got out there it settled down to great 6-7 m. Also nice and warm with fun swell towards Doug's.
Sorry we missed you guys at Rufus.

Rufus was on and D-Krep definitely took one for the team yesterday. My amigo lost a board.....and D-Krep went up wind what seemed like a 1/2 mile in search and then the wind dropped. His kite goes down....and I'm thinking ah shit this is going from bad to worse. I hop in my rig, figuring I would help him walk it out from the highway, but I can't see him from I-84. Getting nervous. I'm thinking he's sitting on one of the islands gathering his gear of waiting for a puff to get home home. All of a sudden there's Krep walking from island to island all the way back to Rufus dragging two boards out. The guy is a good karma machine!

Then to top if off, JJ, Tracy and Krep rig bigger and go out for a late evening session on 10's. Good times and lot's of laughs and smiles in Feb. Thankfully!

I was worried when I left as I saw the "issues " develop, glad it turned out ok. Good to have experienced kiters around looking out for each other in the middle of February! Thanks for the pics!

Yeah, I dropped in close enough to shore for Ken to tell me the board was gone down the river, and to not bother chasing after it. Wind was really steady, so I cruised up anyways, got to the Wall, did one last reach, turned around, and there she was. Wind got a little light, so I had two choices... stash the board and kite back, or just self-land and walk back. Since I was on one of those little narrow islands, I thought it would just be simpler to hike everything back to the Rufus launch. No problems... I just didn't want to deflate my kite in case I needed it to cross any deep spots. Its a slow, but very doable walk along the shoreline on the Oregon side, though the last gap from island to Rufus launch was the deepest, and it was nice to have John come out and help get the gear across. Very strong current between all of the gaps as one would expect. Was more than happy to take one for the team and get the board back. Worked out anyways, as the post-board rescue 10m session was short but sweet!

ya, I was gonna follow you up to the Wall for fun, didn't know the board was gone, but smelled a rat with the wind. Good to know the walk back is do-able if low water. Nice job! V
