Looking for advice from someone that has actually riden an 8M LF NRG.

I currently have 7,9,12 LF Envy's and a 14M NRG. I love the NRG and thinking of upgrading my "go to" 9M kite. The problem is the NRG comes in 8M and 10M so i'm trying to figure out if the 8M will have the same range as my 9 Envy?

all of the reviews online claim that the NRG has tons of power for its size but wanted info from someone who has riden one.

many thanks

they def fly bigger than sized. I would call the 8 a solid 9 plus Envy. Really liked the NRG, fast, powerful, and goes upwind like a race kite. Boosts great as shown at the Rockpile Boost a rama last summer where they placed first and third. ( the 8 was the winner}

a friend of mine said the 8 and 10 are great kites as long as you dont plan to use them in the surf due to the ammount of struts. Great kites but not a surf kite. Not implying that you were going to use it for that but just throwing my worthless two cents in! He road the 8 the majority of the time this last summer in the hood and he weighs 175lbs.

Thanks for the comments guys.

it has four struts and no center one but no idea why it would be bad for surf. I have had my 14M NRG in the surf but it never hit the water so not I'm not sure what to expect.

It works good in the surf. Just don't put it down in the water and expect super fast relaunch. I was told no first hand experience that if it and when it hits the water the water sits where the center strut is. Don't matter who you are if you play in the surf long enough you will have a kite buried in the water. I have heard it boosts like a mofo:-)!!
