got out at rooster on thursday. ron and jordan joined me on the water.
this has me puzzled...
39 degrees reports on sauvie sensor and my car says 43 in cascade locks but when I pull into rooster my temp increases to 53 degrees! amazing to see the sun and 53 degrees. afterwards drove back into portland and its solid fog again. crazy to see a 14 degree temp difference in such a short distance. wind was pretty solid but strong. so windy I felt comfy on a 5m. so warm I bet I could have worn a wetsuit.

thanks joe for some shots

Wind blows fog away, sun heats exposed surface. It was sunny and 50+ at St. Helens on Wednesday when I was snowmobillin. Daffodil's are popping up already.

Not just sun heating the surface. The strong winds mix down the warm air from aloft. Inversion, ya know - that's why it was so warm at St Helens...
