Seems like there might be people who know the answer to this - Are Multnomah Falls and others like Horsetail iced over with this past week of freezing temps? It's always cool to check them out when they're icy.

I also want to find a good shallow pond for a pick up game of pond hockey. Can't do that that often here.

I can't be 100% sure, but being a native and living here for many decades, I'm pretty sure they are. Just look at the Rooster Cam, the pier has frozen ice chunks. Last time it was this cold (I believe back in 2008) the falls were frozen as well as the pier.

Multnomah Falls, Horse Tail , Tawamana falls are all worth a look see.

I know people are skating on Laurance Lake and others.

Played some lunch time pond hockey here in the Couve. I am up for some more.

I seen those falls they are climbing right before multnomah falls coming from Pdx.

Nice pond hockey pics! Where is this in the Couve? I'm gonna guess north of 500 around Andresen maybe? I also saw some potential spots off 88th close to Costco.

I need to dust of my skates. But my hockey stick is nowhere to be found. Lost it in it's dormancy. Also the pond hockey ship is probably sailing tonight.

Be careful out there guys. There was a ice rescue in progress this evening during the 6:00 news. It was happening in Milwaukee, OR. I am sure there will be more details at the 10 and 11 news hours.
I have a 10:40 game inside so there is no chance I will fall through.

As a ice climber, I must say to be careful out there . The temps will be warming up and some of that ice will be detaching and falling hard and heavy. If it were really thick it could self support for a bit, but as thin as it is it will be collapsing dramatically and dangerously.

be kind to your belayer

It was the awesome Dog Patrol who was one of the rescuers sporting the drysuit to help pull those teenage kids out of the water. Thumb's Up Nice job amigo!

Ken. Thanks much for the kind words. Stoked i am able to have a job that enables me to be able to contribute when called upon. Blancoh2o and Lloyd both do the same as I and probably others I just don't know. I think they would both say we are lucky to be in the positions we are. Can spring return please so we can have some warmer temps and water again. I am suffering from my water addiction. No water to even kayak now:-(
