Found a fun little video that has some of everthing concerning flying and falling.

http://justacro.com/video/events-shows/voss-ventus-showreel-2013

This just gets me stoked and shows some things that I am very very good at, and some that I have just started... Promise to throw up some wingsuit footage the second I get some...

Ciao, Jonny Rotten

Doesn't seem that off topic. I've seen much less to do with kiting discussed here. That was a rad video. The convertible drop off was pretty nuts!

Nice!!

At the end the the three guys with the parachutes?speedwings??or?? were descending at the same rate as the guy in the wing suit. Does this mean the wing suit guy could land without a parachute? I am surprised there was a descent speed that both types of gear could fly.

At the end the guys flying the skydive canopies are on sub 70's (skydive canopies are measured in square feet) that are specially trimmed to fly to match the wingsuit glide ratio. They are travelling at about 110mph. Look carefully at the angle of the canopies. If they were to land like that without a flare... they are dead. To give you an idea of how small those canopies are, I jump a 149...

The only reason they can land is because of the design of the air-ram wing and the fact that they have trailing edge brakes/toggles and can flare the crap out of them. The wingsuit does not have any flair capability... No matter how much the wing guys uses his body to try and pitch-up/flare... he is still going to fast and dead.

Pretty awesome, and the canopy to wingsuit docking is starting to be pretty common place these days...

I remembered seeing this... Not exactly "landing" without a chute but ballsy all the same.
