Fellow NW kiters. Last year's Jam was fun with kiters showing up from New Zealand, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. End your winter with a "trip of a lifetime" before switching over to water as the spring winds turn on at our local water kite spots. Deep snow, immense terrain, friends, and good winds make this adventure to Alaska, unforgettable. SnowKite Jam is hosting its 2nd Annual event on the breathtaking Kenai Peninsula and in the famous Chugach Mountains. Based out of the 4-Star Alyeska Hotel in Girdwood, Alaska, only 40 minutes from Anchorage. Participants will be steps away from the tram at Alyeska ski resort, which receives the most snow in the United States and minutes away from epic snowkiting. The 4-day event, March 20-23, 2014, features guided snowkiting, the northern lights, skiing/snowboarding, spectacular scenery, and a full range of alternative activities from heli-skiing to relaxing at the spa. Prior snowkiting experience is not required. However, intermediate or better kite boarding skills on water and skiing/snowboarding skills are required. For more information: http://snowkitejam.com/

Hey Ya Ken,

Thompson Pass is shaping up nicely. Been blowing steady for the past week and snow is accumulating nicely. It's about 130cm (4 feet)

Happy Holidays All.

Good to know Krash.

The top photo above is Jon McCabe on his Ozone foil at Thompson Pass and snowkiting by the icefall coming off of 27-mile Glacier.

Jon just won the BigAir event at the KSP World Championships in Maui. He also goes big on the snow.
