Damn - sorry to hear about the pounding.
I broke my c-7 a few years ago. I feel your pain x3.
The best thing I did to rehab afterwards was backcountry snowboarding. Actually started out just touring/skinning around a lot. I couldn't believe how much each tour improved the way I felt overall. Not liking to deny my need for adrenaline I started doing some nice gravity turns for reward for diligence. It all went well despite my Dr.'s protests. He was pretty sure I was bound to booger-up his efforts but I just listened to my bodies' response to the efforts. There was just something incredibly therapeutic in the motion and flow of touring around on the splitboard. I would guess you'd get the same type of therapy from an elliptical but there may be some healing from mountain air & fresh snow. |

Risks of being a stud..
Take the recovery slow and steady. Pain is a warning and should be takin in moderation.
Breaking up the scar tissue from these things are a hurdle in itself.
I know some of the hardest recovery from issues were not letting it mentally deter you from reoccurrence. Some levels of self preservation can be weakness for the extreme.
Glad to hear you are still out there somewhere to be tearing stuff up again soon.
Guess our moms worries are merited sometimes ... listen to your personal nurse.
Take it easy. |

Thanks for support Kite crew.
Inspiring to hear recovery stories.
Im walking daily , lengthening my walks each time. My son says I look like Frakenstein. Im 10 days post surgery so I probably need to pace myself, which is hard to do. Should be happy im walking at all but my goal 100% recovery to kiting, surfing.. need to find good PT up on North Coast that understands this. |

Crainial sacral p.t. has kept me from back surgery 2x so far .. Try searching one of them out. Maybe osteopath could refer a good one.
If you come down and visit your mom I can get you into my guy with a few days notice picking up cancelations usually.
Good computer posture will help to, as you do more lurking for a bit. |
