| Anyone heading to Jones? Is it stupid to even think about going given water temps? I have a 5/4 wetsuit and I'm a beginner, woo hoo. |

If you have a hooded 5/4, gloves and booties, short periods in the water should be ok. Probably if your a beginner, you should stay close to the Oregon side and have someone more experienced kiting keeping an eye on you.
I think I read last week from Nak, that the river temp was around 53 degrees, so it probably is a bit lower now.
Sun and east winds return tomorrow for some Rooster Booster sessions, maybe even into Saturday. |

| I'm slightly confused…the ikitesurf app on my iPhone says Jones is at 24 mph, while the website says it's only 7. Why the difference? |

I bet on the app you did a search and are looking at the wind at jones beach, Long Island. its blowing 22 there right now  |

Remember with jones beach almost always it is size or two larger on the Oregon side than the Washington side (where the iKite sensor is). The other sites use a sensor that is either an estimation or cathlamet which is wind shaded.
