Anyone heading to Jones? Is it stupid to even think about going given water temps? I have a 5/4 wetsuit and I'm a beginner, woo hoo.

If you have a hooded 5/4, gloves and booties, short periods in the water should be ok. Probably if your a beginner, you should stay close to the Oregon side and have someone more experienced kiting keeping an eye on you.

I think I read last week from Nak, that the river temp was around 53 degrees, so it probably is a bit lower now.

Sun and east winds return tomorrow for some Rooster Booster sessions, maybe even into Saturday.

I'm slightly confused…the ikitesurf app on my iPhone says Jones is at 24 mph, while the website says it's only 7. Why the difference?

Alcohol...

All I've seen shows Jones with low winds.

Remember with jones beach almost always it is size or two larger on the Oregon side than the Washington side (where the iKite sensor is). The other sites use a sensor that is either an estimation or cathlamet which is wind shaded.
