Just got here and it's definitely less than yesterday's 30-40. Sensor went out before 7am at 33mph. I'd estimate its 25 gusting to 30mph. Pdx is fogged to troutdale and yesterday was clear if that means anything. Nak's wunderground station at Prindle shows 20 gusting to 32.

Have been out earlier on the 10 and it has backed off a bit. I would prefer the win to pik up a little! A couple wind surfers out and they are ???? Well one went in already and the other is slogging around. It feels like the wind is dying and water level is dropping?

Was hoping for stronger winds, but may head that way if some good OSR's are reported-- looks light on the webcam..

Was fun while it lasted. 9 meter wind one second followed by 12 meter wind. Glad I hit it this morning as it seemed to be dying when I left at 130. Thanks wind gods for delivering such a kick ass week of east winds at rooster. My legs are spent this week. Almost more fun than the summer winds:-)!!

Kraemer!

Yeah, it looked shitty at RR even at noon when we were there. The Dalton downwinder was great though! Didn't turn shitty till about abeam the volleyball courts. The winds were really nice at the east end of the park till pretty late...

From 3:00 till on the wind kept shifting East to west to north to south. Made for a very entertaining time watching Stringy try and self rescue. Very Happy

PostThu Oct 24, 13 6:29 pm    sorry the wind was inconsistent down at Rooster, but... Reply with quote

had 2+ hours (9 am- 11:30) of lit 8m RPM and twintip session today at Bridal Veil

huge boosts, rolls, surfing swell, went down to the flatwater and up to the Pharoahs Rock, arms so sore they burn, and an ankle that won't heal, with a huge smile all the way across my silly face

Metal Dog was with me, boostin and rolling just fine on his 7m rebel, until he had to bail to Rooster for work midday.

When I came in it was getting stronger, thought maybe the forecast for an early die was wrong.

Nice thing about BV is the better exposure to the NW winds, and the wind was definitely 75-80 degrees today.

That being said, BV is a sketchy launch, screwed my ankle up there and it's definitely not worth it. So nobody should go there.

Wink

I was riding for about an hour on 8m going upwind no problems.
decided to go back westward where the convergence was progressing and got greedy.
one tack out too far to the north and mother nature denied me and slapped my kite to the water. once it hit the water it didn't know whether to drift east or west. I sat there watching everyone a couple hundred yards to the east powered up on their kites and where I was just midway between the channel marker and nudie beach there was shit for wind. must have took at least 30 minutes to get back to oregon side. at least it was sunny and warm. fortunately I got pictures of the whole ordeal.
I picked the best for you guys. you're welcome

Do tell about kiting in 50 mph. 4 & 5 meter kites ? I imagine that it is quite something, I might see what Stevenson is doing.
