I can say without a doubt that late September is one of the worst months for wind in SD. The ocean is warm and the desert is warm, so no thermal winds. March, April, May & June can be OK for a 14m, or mid-winter just before stormfronts roll in. Just find a longboard and go surfing at Cardiff, Swamis, or other north county beach. This weekend should be a decent south swell. nickdward Since 11 Aug 2008 130 Posts Seattle Stoked Wed Sep 11, 13 3:11 am     If you're going there for a month bring your biggest kite....and you might get one or two days on the water. Only a week and I wouldn't bother, you'd need some darn good luck. Count on doing some surfing, biking, sailing, etc instead.
