Sun Aug 11, 13 1:31 pm Advice on best kitesurf spots on Southern Oregon Coast |
|
|
Hi there,
Based on some travel to different parts of Southern Oregon, I plan on bringing kite gear and getting some kiting in. I am interested in surf only vs. flat water, its all I kite. I have over 10 years experience and have kited a lot of different spots including some pretty heavy surf.
It looks like there are some great kiting spots on the Oregon coast, and would love some advice on best spots, typical kite sizes for Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring - an which the best / most consistent season(s) typically are. I assume a 4/3 with Hood/Booties will suffice for water temps, but maybe 5/4 better for winter...
Truly appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks. |

I guess it depends on what you consider to be the South Coast of Oregon. If you ever plan on swinging through the DEEP South (AKA: south of Floras Lake), feel free to PM me. It's really f-ing windy down here and generally a bit warmer than the rest of the coast. Basic forecasting tools work for getting an idea of when it will be cranking. Oh yeah....there are also tons of sharks. _________________ I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.
