Lost and Found Reminder - Check in w/Port of Hood River

Just noticing a lot of listings for lost equipment in the Lost and Found section and wondering how many people have actually checked in at the Port of Hood River, the Sherrifs office, and your local shops (who should always be posting found items on NW Kite) to see if there gear has been retrieved.

The Event Site hosts have been turning in a pretty even amount of gear just about every weekend. They diligently tag and itemize each item before turning them in to the Port of Hood River offices to then be placed into the Lost and Found dept.

This is not a notification for bullshitters to now start calling to try to get free gear, mind you, they have detailed notes on each item and when it was lost.
By doing this, they have an easier time getting the right gear back to the right owners.

So, if you have lost any gear on, near or around the Event Site, Spit, Hook or Marina Beach, it would be in your best interest to contact the Port of Hood River, or even better yet drop by in person to see if they have any of your gear that needs to be returned back to it's owner.

Lastly, please be courteous and say your 'please' and 'thank you's' when doing this, as it's not their job to keep track of your gear, but it is very kind of them to do this.

We managed to loose a single bootie a few weeks ago, and it was at the lost and found.

thanks event site hosts and port for saving us the money it would have cost to buy a new pair.

just be careful who u talk to. They had my kite, told me 3 times they didn't, wouldn't let me check. They had it. Took all day to get it back. No apologies, seemed they couldn't care less.

Name and number on your gear is a BIG help. They were trying to return it to a previous owner!
