If if if it goes it looks to be a big kite day. Forecast is for it to barely make it to the twenties. Get to the wa side quick:-)!! Slower builds than expected. May have to wait for the late switch!!

Jones averaging 16 13-19 at 5:00. Event site averaging 14 (9-20). Jones is so much enjoyable with no crowds But also rather remote. Even better tomorrow

Looks like it never really took off today. Did anyone head out there? Were you able to ride on 12-14m? I'm hoping tomorrow will be better - it looks likely as it will be a bit warmer in Kelso and Portland.

Did not happen today. Lots of the crew hanging till 7. A little puff put 12s-16s on the water for about a half hour. Not too exciting. Too bad, its such a cool spot. Tomorrow is questionable.

I am still a little intimidated by the ocean being a newbie. A couple more Jones sessions then maybe a go? It seems to me Fort Stevens waves are a little rougher then Manzos or is that just a day to day thing

Looks like it will go today. I'd be heading out there if I didn't have a previous engagement...

Looks like they are planning some beach protection/reclamation project but the people we spoke to said nobody had heard any details.

just checked the website and they are closing it for the season Crying or Very sad

http://www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=129

Construction began July 2013 to stabilize the foredune adjacent to the root of the south jetty, located in Fort Stevens State Park, Ore. The augmentation is intended to prevent further erosion and minimize the risk of a breach of the foredune, Clatsop Spit and the jetty root. The US Army Corps of Engineers is working closely with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and Fort Stevens park mangers to minimize impacts to public areas including parking lots and the beach near the south jetty. Impacts include traffic delays and lane restrictions on Jetty Road from Ridge Road to the turnoff for parking lot C; and parking lot B will be closed for the season. The construction area near the root of the south jetty will be clearly marked and off limits; park visitors will have access to the beach but should expect to encounter construction-related noise during the day and possibly at night.
