I went to Secret last week and the launch rope was missing, does anyone know if this means Parks & Rec shut it to kiters, or is it just BYO now? |

The site has been shut down. But windsurfers are helping kiters launch at Doug's Beach now. Also, if you don't have your PASA card, you will get a $200 fine. |

Welcome to Kite Club.
The first rule of Kite Club is: you do not talk about Kite Club. The second rule of Kite Club is: you DO NOT talk about Kite Club...
... and...Third rule of Kite Club: someone yells "stop!", kiter goes limp, taps out, the kiting is over.

I have seen OSP and Sherrif's dept there too. You are no longer allowed to kite there, period. Go to Event Site, Rowena or Rufus. _________________ JHB |

i think this is probably the 'locals only club'. Also, since it has secret in the name and hasn't been a secret for about 10 years, you have to be secretive when you talk about it. |

FYI: I saw the popo at the Lyle sandbar today. Not sure if anyone got tickets? Not trying to fan the flames just an FYI. I think the issue might have been that a couple cars were parked on the side of the road and not in the little parking lot. _________________ Steve

There is a place that is on the water side that you can park at and walk through the shallows or sand depending on the depth at the time. Not sure what the little lot is called or if it even has a name?? but is lagit and legal, i think

we park ther all the time in the summer. two years ago a few of us got permission from a tribal cop over there to park there. Note there are some less than quality people that camp in the general area so dont leave a bunch of nice stuff in your car. we walk or float our stuff to the bar. there is a line that you can walk about waist deep that is finally just starting to be an option. the rivers; both have been too high for this option but we put some concrete blocks you can launch from at higher water.
I have friends that are UP cops and 99%of the people have no clue about the laws etc and the reality. Dont park on the tracks; get off them way before they see you so they dont have to fill out a near miss. They will not site you unless you are an ass and deserve it. Dont forget you are a visitor to these places and treat them as such. I know some people who think they are too cool or good that these rules dont apply and you deserve it. Dont act like and ass to the cops if they show up. Listen to their disertation why you should not be there, be respectfu and tell them you under stand, then let them leave and return to the fun.
yes and park in the lot and walk your lazy ass another 50 feet so you dont F..k it up for the rest of us!!
