Just wondering why nobody kites at cannon? Good clean wind, gentle beach slope, and a river mouth with some flat water

Anybody ever give it a shot?

Yes. But....Shipwrecks downwinders are much better waves and company. If it is Southwest, the Mountain effects the wind.

I kite south of big haystack mainly on southerly days. Yes, the waves aren't as nice as shipwrecks nor the wind as consistent as Manzanita. On North wind days, it seems to be about 10mph less than Manzanita. But on South wind days, it's on. Just steer clear of the 4-5 rocks near the middle of the beach and the tourists who seem to always observe about 20ms downwind of your launch.
