CGKA - E.Coli at the Event Site - ALL CLEAR NOW!!!!

AS OF JULY 3RD AT 2PM THE COLUMBIA RIVERKEEPERS HAVE REPORTED THAT THE E.COLI LEVELS IN FRONT OF THE EVENT SITE HAVE NOW DROPPED BELOW THE HEALTH DANGER LIMITS.

Notice from the Port of Hood River :

Unfortunately, Columbia Riverkeeper has just reported that E.coli levels are high again at the Event Site. The sample was taken yesterday (7/1) and came in at 686.7 MPN. Normal is 235 MPN. Another sample was taken today and results will be back at 2:00pm tomorrow (7/3). The Port will be posting warning signage at the Event Site indicating “Water Contact Discouraged” and will remove signage when it is safe to swim again. No conspiracy, just letting the public know about the high levels.

Like Jak said, todays results came up clear.

The Event Site waterfront is safe and ready to roll.

It makes one ponder the issues of animal poop runoff from low level spaces that develop a build up of goose or dog poop that eventually gets washed into the river, either via rainstorms or high water levels.
