I skimmed the thread...there is not much comic relief from the contributors.
My favorite part was when they suggested that the kiter was perhaps stressed out due to something like "pot smoking withdraw".
It brought back some memories.

thats funny. i remember finding one of those smoking lighters guns like that that blow the smoke in your mouth in my uncles garage when I was 14. Ummm, ya know, it was a fun day, and i didn't have to repeat the 8th grade.

That thread is pretty up tight. I wouldn't go and think too many people are like that, but some are. So............

He drives an old blue-green Dodge Caravan with a crudely-finished hand-crafted fiberglass aerodynamic topper box about 15" high for his gear.

Well the van description narrows it down to about 30 guys I know. Wink

Hopefully he loads his gun with some tasty BC Bud and takes a long deep pull to help him chillax because no river "right of way" bullshit should require law enforcement involvement.

I'll delete this thread tonight. People wondered if the Kite community was aware of the person in question. It was not indented, nor do I think anyone took this, as any sort of anti kiter thing.

Thanks for your indulgence.

I would have probably had a little more sympathy for the windsurfer in question had I not been run down and nearly hit by a windsurfer last year at the Hatch. I think this probably comes down to a he said, he said argument. The guy wasn't arrested so I'm sure the cop wouldn't let a knife wielding maniac on the loose just because someone didn't want to press charges. Stuff like this is unfortunate but incredibly goofy. I don't get it. I used to windsurf and I've had kiters and windsurfers cut me off and try to out "upwind" me. Never pulled a knife or intentionally ran anyone down. Let's all simmer down and take some advice from officer Stedenko.

Sorry we went to joker mode as usual....

I guess first off don't cut people off. Just because you dont have the tangle danger directly connected to you while pole dancing does not mean you need to get close and tempt fate or in this case tempers.

When a windsurfer goes kiter and still is going postal beware..

Thanks for sharing the beta . Hopefully this will help self police the situation a bit.

Its a big world and we are bound to run into a nut job once and a while.

What would the windsurfer crew suggest we do.. We could get a congressional hearing about it but thats a joke too....

And fyi no anti poleboarder sentiment here less kiters the better for us to.

Take some responsibility .........bitch slap the guy and be prepared to defend yourself ..

Or not and reach out to the forum of peeps...

Good luck and better days.

The guy is having a weed withdrawal? Sounds like someone who learned everything they know about herb from watching hannity. Yep all that beasters he puffed in Canada fucked up his head, now he comes to the gorge, gets run down by some windsurf gang and pissed.
