I thought about putting this in the Industry section, but it is more educational than advertising.

Plus we all know Mr. Meyer and it is pretty funny to watch. So, get ready to learn about board outline as it pertains to design and performance.

Tony,

I will put a bug in Ben's ear about the quad versus thruster topic.

Personally I will be riding the 5'10" Sonic this year. Something about an old school shape with a thruster that just works.

Thanks, Jon

quads are great for generating speed when surfing mushier waves and don't have a center fin creating drag. they can get kinda "tracky" on steeper waves if not set up properly. maybe quads are better for light wind?

seems like a thruster would be the call for kiting in decent wind, especially in waves. Better maneuverability and since the kite is making power for you (instead of pumping to generate speed) and having the center fin will counter the kite's power a little better (keep you going where you want - no center fin means the board will be more squirrel-y).
