It looks to me like it should go today. Possibly go big.

I saw the .04 gradient after your post!

I planned to hit the HR sandbar tomorrow, but your post wants me to try Jones for the first time in my life today. This is my second season. I have a 9m and 13m. 6mm wetsuit.

Should I drive out? I have always wanted to ride Jones, but haven't dialed into the right forecast yet.

wind is from the south west - not sure how well that works with Jones - that is almost offshore from the launch. Nate would be the expert on this..........

Yeah, I think I'm going to head out there. Talked to Nate and he said it's a bit gusty out of the south but still do-able. Probably best out in the middle of the river.? Not sure I would recommend it for a beginner day since it's offshore a bit.

Thank you, I really appreciate you help.

I am on a new board this season, Slingshot twin tip, so I am hesitant to try two new things at once.

Do you think the wind speed will go over 30 today?

Doubt it will go over 30 but... you never know. I think/hope it will even out and come a bit more westerly/ north. If it does that, then it's good to go. Unfortunately, the only real way to find out is to drive out there.

Now if the wind feeding it just turns more west... .08W gradient... dig out your 6-7m If it turns right...

I don't believe the direction on the sensor. I'm on the beach, and it's from the NW. The report is saying SSW.

I'd say c'mon out!

Sensor is reading the normal Jones direction now. Lucky people out at Jones - I am jealous of you all! Especially after getting skunked yesterday at Stevenson, Dalton and Rooster. I got to all 3 spots just as the wind was dying off. I almost kited Willamette Park in West Linn out of desperation yesterday. The wind was nuking there on the Willamette just above the falls. If there were not so many people on the dock sunbathing - I might of done it! Kiting above a big waterfall made me a bit hesitant also............... Smile

Over the falls, just sheet in, Bill! But don't hit that old Oregon City bridge! That would be an epic trip...

Been watching it the last couple of years above the falls. I drive by it daily and If i had a waverunner I would be all over it so we could launch and have the wave runner grab our kite so we could come back on the dock. N and E winds make that section look good. Maybe we could just boost the falls:-)
