Anybody have recommendations for storm kiting today? Sandbar is 20 in the gust, a bit much and getting pelted in the face with rain doesn't help.
I can self launch, never tried self landing so would rather go somewhere with a few other idiots who need a sesh.

Sounds like it's going to be a little dirty but Rowena to Rufus should work.
From Temira; Temps will be in the mid 40′s early and low 50′s later, with showers in the central Gorge. Expect the wind, easterly at 5am, to switch to strong west by 9am, with 30-40+ east of The Dalles and strong, gusty wind in the central gorge. Pick of the day? Arlington or The Wall, because there’s a chance the upper low will kick off thunderstorms further east and screw up Threemile.

Don't kite in the rain squalls.
As a general rule, you should always go east of the clouds for the steadiest winds in the Gorge.
Rufus was pretty good 8M today with maybe 10 kiters and some periods of sunshine.

Anyone want to claim being the guy swimming in this afternoon at Mosier? Around 2:30, by yourself, orange kite...
Hope the session was worth it. That water looked COLD!

It wasn't too cold! I forgot how quickly the wind can turn off in the spring storms. It was nice to get out.

Rufus was very nice. A bit gusty, but hey, its a storm day. I heard Arlington was where it was at, though...

The coast had very good west winds today which were strong, steady and kitable. There was even some moments that were sunny and relatively warm.

Dern, I think that was you on the 11M later in the day......after it picked up. Go big or go home!
