For the record, running into just one of the lines with your kite does not seem to route a grounding current through your body.

Explain. ?
Sure the wire hit was energized?
Bone-Dry kite? Magic gloves? Kiting the deionized sea?
Was it because you were riding in boots?
Are you a bird?
What am I missing?

Are you referring to our snow kite trip? I hit the bottom power line straight on with my kite and it bounced right off. The "grass was greener" on the other side of the power lines - so we "flew" our kites under the lines...... - I didn't see the bottom wire - LOL......

Right. If I recall correctly there was one or two others that did the same.

More than likely you hit the ground wire, (unless it was a tension wire set up to support the poles.)
Snowkiting it was most likely you it the MGN or ground wire beneath three other wires.
The three wires above the wire you hit most likely have 50,000 volts or more.
Not all power transmission lines even have a grounding wire.
So, that's cool
but I wouldn't try it again Shocked

Yeah - pretty sure Fuzz was dragging his 19 m foil across that line. How did you squeeze under with your 14? LOL yeah - it probably was just a tension line, but I wouldn't try it again! Smile
