Hi all,
I'm from Germany and will be in Corvallis, because of an exchange program.( April to Sept.) I'm not sure to bring my Kitestuff with me, because I don't know the kite spot conditions and of course the transport is a bit expensive. (I've learned Kiteboarding in Summer '12...I'm more or less experienced). Are there in South Beach everytime big waves when it's windy? Are there consistently other kiters, because of the safety (weekend/no weekend) ? Don't want to go out alone.
It would be delighted me, if you help me.
Best regards from Germany

You will not be alone... That is for certain.
Bring the gear or you will be kicking yourself for 5 of the 6 months you will be here. |

Sometimes windy, sometimes wavvy. Don't be bashful about kiting alone or you might be sitting on the beach staring at perfection waiting for someone to show up which might not happen.
GO BIG OR GO HOME!!

I don't speak German, but I think Oliver said, bring your shit! I would have to agree. Oregon coast rocks and your never too far from the Gorge. Look forward to kiting with you. |

Hi Domi,
I just moved to Corvallis recently and I'm looking for kiting buddies to go to the coast. I'm probably right around your experience level; not a beginner, somewhere between novice and intermediate. Drop me a line when you get into town.
Cheers,

Domi,
Yes, bring your gear. As other have said, its one of the best wind and wave spots on the oregon coast. I went to school in Corvallis and gladly gave rides to other.....well, I was windsurfing at the time.
If you dont have a car just make friends with all the local corvallis kiters and surfers. Agate is ok as well just a little gusty |

Thanks at all of you for the answers. That's truly what I wanted to hear
Now, it's no longer a question for me to bring my gear or not. I'm excited about kiting in Oregon and can hardly wait.
@xicerex: I'll give you notice after my arrival, hope to start a few sessions together.
@Oliver: I'm suprised reading something german in this forum |

bring your kites and a few boards
5meter through as big as you want people to see you ride......
straps will keep you riding comfortably in the real big wind and waves and strapless for those conservative swimming type days
look foreward to some newriders.
more girls would be nice to
come down to 45 miles s de newport to.
tomorrow looks promising even
Mon: N wind 10 to 20 kt. Wind waves 2 to 3 ft. Mixed swell NW 4 ft at 8 seconds and NW 2 ft at 12 seconds.
bring a good wetsuit too
and mtn bike for no wind days. |

Bring it all!!
You can meet plenty of people who kite in the area. Lot's of people have vans and often give rides to people who need them.
Bring it, for sure,
